Getting started

Install the server

Run the command for your system from the home page. It asks before installing anything.

Connect your phone

Open NomaDev – Connect phone (Start menu or desktop on Windows, Launchpad or the Applications folder in your home on macOS, the app menu on Linux): a page with the QR code opens. Scan it with the app. On a VPS, run nomadev pair over SSH.

Use the trial

The 7 days of Studio start when you connect your first phone. Connecting a second phone doesn't restart them.

Common problems

My phone can't reach the server

Check that Tailscale is connected on both the computer and the phone, and that you typed the address nomadev pair shows. Without Tailscale the phone reaches the server only on the same network, and the connection is not encrypted: use Tailscale or HTTPS. If it still fails, make sure the computer's firewall allows the server's port (4000 by default).

The connection code is rejected or expired

Each code lasts 10 minutes and is cancelled after 5 wrong attempts. Open NomaDev – Connect phone again (on a VPS: nomadev pair) for a new one.

The app says Claude Code is missing or not signed in

Run nomadev doctor on the computer: it lists what's missing. If Claude Code is installed but not signed in, run claude, sign in with your subscription and exit with /exit.

The server doesn't start because the port is in use

Another program is already using port 4000 (or 4001 for the preview). Change port and previewPort in ~/.nomadev/config.json, run the install command again to restart the server, then use the new port in the address in the app.

Notifications don't arrive

Allow notifications for NomaDev in Android settings and exclude it from battery optimisation, which can delay them. You get a notification when Claude finishes, asks a question or needs a permission.

An FTP or SFTP upload fails

Check the password or the SSH key passphrase, and the destination folder. If the app warns that the server's fingerprint has changed, make sure your hosting really changed its certificate or key before accepting the new one.

How do I update the server?

Run nomadev update, or run the install command again: it keeps your configuration.

Subscription

How do I change level or cancel?

From Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → NomaDev.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds go through Google Play: see Google Play's refund page.

What happens when my subscription ends?

You move to Free: chat with Claude, files, git status, diffs and undoing changes stay, and the app doesn't lock. Preview, file editing, voice, attachments, branches, sync, commit history and pull requests come back with Pro, and publishing with Studio, when you renew on Google Play. Nothing on your computer is deleted, and your configuration is still there.

Uninstall

Stop the server, remove it and delete its configuration. Your projects are not touched. On a VPS, use the Linux commands.
